Iran robustly slams Trumps al-Quds move

December 9, The Iran Project - People have taken to the streets in many cities across the world, Iran in particular, to show their solidarity with the Palestinian nation and voice their outrage at a decision by the US to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as Israels capital.

US President Donald Trump's announcement over his decision on Jerusalem on Wednesday (Dec 6) prompting a wave of condemnations and warnings from Palestinian factions and many world leaders including Washingtons very own allies.

Following the move, in an statement Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) called all Iranians to participate in national demonstrations on Friday (Dec 8) to condemn Trump's decision to recognize Quds as the capital of the occupying regime of Israel.

"The foolish and outrageous act of the US president to recognize Beit-ul-Muqaddas as the capital city of the fake and child killing regime of Israel is a big conspiracy against the Islamic Ummah and denying the rights of Palestinian people. It is vital that that the Muslim World and all other freedom seeking nations across the globe thwart this evil plot by adopting firm positions," said the statement.

It added, "Undoubtedly, this disgusting effort will not only fulfill the dreams of the leaders of the White House and the international Zionism, but it will become a new factor to make the Resistance Front even more determined to pursue the cause of the liberation of the Holy Quds."

In another statement, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri condemned Trump's decision, saying that Holy Quds belongs to the Palestine and the Islamic world and underlined that Muslims will never allow part of Islamic world to be separated from its body and the hegemonic power of the US should understand that unity in the Islamic world will defeat such futile acts and will make the Zionist regime closer to annihilation.

Moreover, Irans Foreign Ministry in a statement strongly denounced the US move, describing it as flagrant violation of the international resolutions.

'The City of Quds which houses The Al-Aqsa Mosque as the first Qibla for Muslims, is the inseparable part of Palestine and is considered one of the three sacred Islamic sites, enjoying a special status for Muslims,' read the statement.
