SHANA - Iran's petrochemical production stood at 39.9 million tons in the first three quarters of the current calendar year which begins on March 21.
According to National Petrochemical Company (NPC)'s mouthpiece, NIPNA, Iran's petrochemical facilities are estimated to yield nearly 60 million tons of petrochemicals while their rated capacity is around 62 mt/y.
The petrochemical industry of Iran, comprising 57 active facilities, is private-run but regulated and supervised by NPC which controls feedstock supply to the facilities across the country.
The plants operating at Mahshahr region, in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, with a rated production capacity of 25.6 mt/y, produced 14.7 million tons of products during the 9 months.
Moreover, the plants operating in Asaluyeh, the energy hub of Iran in the southern province of Bushehr, supplied 16.8 mt in the three quarters.
