Iran parliament to launch cyberspace committee: MP

IRNA Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission is planning to set up a cyberspace committee, a senior lawmaker said.


In a meeting with Iranian Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi and his deputies, the recent unrests in Iran were discussed and establishment of cyberspace committee in the commission was suggested, Spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said on Tuesday.

'Enemy is using all its capacities to topple the Islamic Republic establishment,' he said.

The official referred to the role of cyber space in provoking the unrests and said that enemy is trying to incite people.

Iranians in a number of major cities started to protest against the economic conditions and shortcomings since December 28, 2017, but the protests turned into violence in some parts due to the provocations orchestrated from outside the country.
