IRNA- A Syrian delegate participating in the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi described the meetings as 'sucsessful' and calld for follow-up forums.
'The congress in Sochi was successful from all points of view. This conference brought about the dialogue that we needed so much,' Safwan al-Qudsi told reporters on Wednesday. 'We have taken the right direction and positive changes can already be seen.'
'We believe that other forums should follow, but it is too early to speak about dates right now,' said al-Qudsi who is a delegate from Ba'th Party.
Some differences arose during the discussions in Sochi, which are considered as normal, he said.
The congress was attended by some 1,500 delegates representing the entire Syrian society.
Russian, Turkish and Iranian government delegations, as the sponsors of the Syrian talks, also attended the congress. Some bilateral meetings were also held on the first days of the talks on Monday.
On Tuesday, the United Nations special envoy for Syria Stephan de Mistura said that the talks will have an effect on the separate track of talks on Syria that has been held in Geneva.
