Financial Tribune- Iran is having a strong presence in the First International Industry, Innovation and High-Tech Exhibition that opened in Ashgabat, capital of Turkmenistan, on Wednesday.
Thirty-two Iranian firms are attending the three-day event alongside 53 companies from France, the US, the UK, Italy, Russia, Belgium, Germany, China, South Korea, Turkey, the UAE, Azerbaijan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Kazakhstan to showcase their latest products and services in the fields of oil, gas, auto industry and parts, transport, mining machinery, fertilizers and urea, cooling systems, tiles and ceramic, sanitaryware, construction materials, paper, steel and pipes, furniture, plastic industries, packaging and printing.
Iran exported $215 million worth of goods to Turkmenistan during the six months to Sept. 22, 2017.
Irans economic attache to Turkmenistan, Rahmatollah Khormali, said the exports mainly included steel, cement, clinker, bitumen, plastic products and potato, adding that Iran is among the top 10 exporters to Turkmenistan.
Turkey, Russia and China are the biggest exporters of commodities and services to Turkmenistan.
Khormali noted that the neighboring country imports $5 billion worth of goods annually.
