Trumps attack on JCPOA aimed at frightening European firms: Envoy

IRNA Irans Ambassador to Spain Mohammad Hassan Fadaei-Fard said on Friday that US President Donald Trumps renewed attack on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is aimed at making European companies afraid of entering the Iranian market.

In a friendly working lunch marking the 39th victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution attended by a large number of editors in chief of Spanish media outlets and representatives of the countrys think-tanks, he added that Islamic Republic of Iran, in its 39th anniversary, is moving on the path of development more powerfully than ever and has paved the way for cooperation with all friendly countries through constructive diplomacy.

Commenting on friendly relations with Spain, he said that although oppressive anti-Iran sanctions damaged mutual relations and interests of the Spanish firms, in post-sanctions era, both countries were quick to resume ties, as Spanish companies are currently studying and negotiating different projects.

JCPOA is an international pact endorsed by the UN Security Council and the international community including EU, therefore, any change and renegotiation of the deal is impossible, he said.
Describing Irans missile capability as a major pillar of its national defense strategy with a defensive and deterrent nature, Fadaei-Fard said given ongoing threats against Irans national sovereignty and territorial integrity, any talks about Irans missile program are unlikely.

Arming and funding terrorists has disturbed the regions stability and security, destroyed Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan, killed thousands of innocent people and displaced millions, he said, noting that Irans advisory role in certain regional states is taking place at the official requests of their governments to fight Takfiri terrorists and it will continue until the end of the counter-terrorism mission.
