IRNA Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said that the country's achieved self-reliance brought it security in a hotbed of crisis.
'Despite all problems and sanctions Iran has been facing, the country has become more resistant to such an extent that all of the needs of armed forces are supplied locally,' he said.
Independence, particularly in defense, economy and politics, has been a legitimate demand of the Iranians since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the General said.
'Where are those who denied Iran even the least important supplies, such as barbed wires, to see that the country does not need them any more?' he added.
'Fortunately, today we afford to meet our needs; a situation that has resulted in security for Iran in a hotbed of crisis,' he said.
