IRNA The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei visited the family of one of the martyrs of the recent riots in Tehran Wednesday night.

In one of the streets of northern Tehran, there was a riot broke out on February 19. After the deadline of the police was over at 4:00 a.m., the riot was subdued by the security forces and the main instigators were arrested.
In the unrest, held by a group of dervishes, five of the law enforcement forces were killed in a bus and car attack and stabbing and 30 others were injured. Some of the rioters sustained injuries as well.
Public property, people's cars and homes were also damaged by the rioters.
Regarding the reasons for the riot, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli said that in the past 40 years, enemies have been bent on disrupting the country's security through various scenarios and what happened on Pasdaran Street was part of the same plot.
They were to ignite the spark in Tehran and spread it to other cities across the country, he said.
A Dervish cult claiming to be followers of mysticism and chivalry attacked innocent civilians with swords, daggers and sticks putting the security of the people at risk, the interior minister said.
