US congratulates Nowruz to its celebrators
IRNA The US Department of State in a message on the eve of the New Persian Year congratulated the event, known as Nowruz, to Iranians and other people who celebrate it.

'As spring arrives, I wish the people of Iran and everyone who celebrates this wonderful tradition a happy Nowruz,' US Deputy Secretary of State John J. Sullivan said.

Nowruz is celebrated as the first day of the Perisan year (March 21). The tradition which is originated from the ancient Iran is also celebrated in some other countries.

'Today, I offer my best wishes to all of the communities here in the United States, as well as in Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, Georgia, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Russia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and around the globe as they gather around the Haftsin, cooking, feasting, dancing, singing, and spending time with family and friends,' he said.

'Finally, Nowruz is a time to reflect on our hopes for the future. May the coming year bring peace, freedom, and prosperity to all,' he said at the end of his message.
