Iran FM urges boosting economic ties with Senegal

IRNA Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said that his country will pursue boosting economic ties with Senegal with an emphasis on the export of non-oil products and technical-engineering services to the African country.


Zarif arrived in Senegal on Monday morning on the first leg of his tour of Africa and the South America.

He told reporters that in his visits that a large delegation of public and private sectors is accompanying him focus will be on promotion of bilateral economic ties with the four countries of Senegal, Namibia, Brazil, and Uruguay.

Describing the economic relations with Senegal as satisfactory, the FM said, 'In the visit, talks will be held with the country's officials in order to promote bilateral ties.'

'In car making sector, Iran has already begun its activities; there are also good grounds for economic ties in the West African country, and we hope we can lay grounds for non-oil exports to Senegal and other countries during the visits,' Zarif said.

The FM will leave Senegal Sunday evening.
