Venezuelan FM discusses bilateral issues with officials in Tehran

April 9, The Iran Project - On Saturday(April 7) Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza arrived in Tehran to hold talks with senior Iranian officials.

While in Tehran, Arreaza held talks with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and Minister of Health and Medical Education Seyyed Hasan Ghazizadeh Hashemi.

During a meeting, a diverse host of issues from bilateral, regional, and international areas were discussed bythe Iranian and Venezuelan FMs.

Zarif and Arreaza exchanged views on bilateral relations in areas of economy, sanctions, US interventions against independent countries, oil market, the Latin America and the Middle East.

In a meantime, a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Iran and Venezuela in the field of pharmaceuticals in the presence of Ghazizadeh Hashemi and Arreaza.

The MoU underlined strengthening mutual cooperation on the export of medicine to Venezuela, producing and registering Iranian medicines in Venezuela and also offering specialized training services in the pharmaceutical field.

Irans potentials and capabilities in the field of medical knowledge and healthcare services are known in the region, Hashemi said, adding, it is for years that Islamic Republic of Iran has stood at the first rank in medical terms in the region.

For his part, Arreaza said achieving palpable results in the field of health is one of our main missions in our cooperation with Iran.

Recently, Iran and Venezuela which are considered as the most prominent targets of Donald Trumps maiden UN speech, have responded to the US presidents condemnations with some of their own, arguing that Washington continues to be a destabilizing influence.

Zarif has said that Trumps shameless and ignorant remarks, in which he ignored Irans fight against terrorism, display his lack of knowledge and unawareness.

Iran's top diploamt accused Washington of supporting tyrannical regimes in the region, and the criminal Zionist state.

Besides, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has condemned what he called aggression from the new Hitler of international politics, Trump, against the people of Venezuela.

He added that nobody threatens Venezuela and nobody owns Venezuela.
