VNA There are plenty of room for Vietnamese and Iranian enterprises to cooperate in the fields of oil and gas, petrochemicals, port, information and technology, telecommunication and tourism, said Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Ali Larijani.
At the Vietnam-Iran Business Forum held in Hanoi on April 17, the Iranian Parliament Speaker stressed that fruitful bilateral relations will serve as a catalyst to bolster trade cooperation and investment between the two nations.
The Iranian market needs to import seedlings, vegetable oil, rice and materials for paper production, he added.
Leaders from the two countries are working to remove bottlenecks in payment and visa granting, he said, expressing his hope that the move will make significant contributions to promoting two-way trade.
Representatives from the Iranian delegation said that Iran has an effective policy to attract foreign investment. The country set up six free trade zones, which offer free corporate tax for investors within 15 years together with other preferential treatment.
Notable characteristics of the Iran market, leading enterprises and visa policy for investors to the southwest Asian country were shared at the event.
Ali Larijani is leading a delegation from the Iranian Parliament to pay a four-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. The Vietnam-Iran Business Forum was organised within the framework of his visit.
