April 18, The Iran Project - The Speaker of Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis or Parliament) Ali Larijani arrived in Vietnamese capital, Hanoi, on April 16 to review issues of mutual interests with the Vietnamese officials.

Larijani's stop in Hanoi witnesses meetings with Vietnam�s National Assembly Chairwoman Thi Kim Ngan, the President of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Tr?n Thanh M?n, and �the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic Nguy?n Xu�n Ph�c .

He also attended in Vietnam-Iran Business Forum held in Hanoi.

The parliament speakers of Iran and Vietnam stressed the expansion of bilateral ties, particularly in trade and tourism sectors.

The Iranian parliament speaker called for the expansion of Iran-Vietnam cooperation in various fields, the parliamentary, oil and gas arenas in particular.

Vietnamese parliament speaker, for her part,� praised the long-standing bilateral relations between Iran and Vietnam, adding that her country will continue to support Iran in the international arena.

Talking to Tran, Larijani said the recent bombardment of Syria was to make the region insecure and it contributed nothing to resolving the crisis in Syria as the solution is political settlement.

Tran, in turn, hailed the achievements garnered by the Islamic Republic of Iran under the auspices of Iran�s Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

Speaking to Vietnamese PM, Larijani said the level of economic cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Vietnam should increase along with progress in political ties.

The Vietnamese premier, for his part, reminded that he had paid an official visit to Tehran in 2014 and said, �I have travelled to many countries but when I arrived in Iran I recognized that Iran is a rich country with tremendous opportunities for cooperation.�

Addressing Vietnam-Iran Business Forum, Larijani said there are plenty of room for Vietnamese and Iranian enterprises to cooperate in the fields of oil and gas, petrochemicals, port, information and technology, telecommunication and tourism.

Larijani also stressed that fruitful bilateral relations will serve as a catalyst to bolster trade cooperation and investment between the two nations.

Larijani will also make a visit to Sri Lanka following his stop in Vietnam.
