The official reassured that there is no problems in Irans nuclear power plant in Bushehr.
Mr. Mahmoudi, an official of the Pars Special Zone of Energy, also told the media that all refineries and petrochemical plants in Asalouyeh Island are also unharmed by the earthquake and are running normally.
A magnitude 5.9 earthquake has jolted the Iranian southern province of Bushehr, with no reports of casualties or damage.
The earthquake struck the provinces Kaki District at the depth of 18 kilometers on Thursday at 11:04 a.m. local time. Several rescue teams have been dispatched to the area.
Governor Abdollah Naderi told IRNA that so far there have been no reports of casualties or damage, noting that the power and water distribution systems of the town have not been disrupted following the quake.
The tremor was also felt in Bahrain and areas around the Persian Gulf, according to reports.
Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
