SHANA - Norway's ORG Company submitted the result of its studies on Sardar Jangal and the three exploration blocs of 24, 26 and 26 of the Caspian Sea to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
The Norwegian company offered the studies on the fields to NIOC in a meeting held with NIOC Deputy CEO for Engineering and Development Affairs Gholamreza Manouchehri in attendance on Saturday.
ORG and NIOC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on November 1 2017 for carrying out studies on the fields and the Norwegian company offered the results in less than the projected 6-month deadline to the Iranian company.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Manouchehri said these studies are completed in the first phase, and completing these studies and identifying the dimensions and characteristics of the reservoir as much as possible could help the NIOC to decide and define the right strategy in this strategic area.
He also noted ORG's experiences in deep-water drilling and cooperation with international energy majors in various projects, adding this would pave the way for technology transfer to Iranian companies.
