TASS- Moscow, Tehran and Ankara have demanded the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons should conduct prompt investigation into the rumors of chemical attacks in Syria, as follows from a joint statement made by their foreign ministers made at a meeting in Moscow on April 28. The statement was published on the Russian Foreign Ministry�s website on Saturday.

It says the foreign ministers "strongly condemned any use of chemical weapons in Syria and demanded that any reports in this regard be investigated promptly and professionally in full compliance with the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction and by the OPCW as the main international competent authority to establish use of chemical weapons."

A number of NGOs, including The White Helmets, launched rumors claiming chemical weapons had been used in Syria�s Douma on April 7. Specialists from the Russian center for the reconciliation of conflicting parties explored Douma to find no evidence chemical weapons had been used there. The next day the OPCW made a decision to dispatch its own experts to Syria to probe into the chemical attack allegations.

OPCW inspectors arrived in Damascus on April 14. Several hours before that the United States, Britain and France launched a massive missile strike against Syria without consent from the UN Security Council using the chemical attack rumors as a pretext.
