Speaker advisor underlines Iran-Egypt parliamentary coop

IRNA - Iran parliament (Majlis) speaker's advisor for international affairs said parliamentary relations play major role in developing relations between Iran and Egypt.


Hossein Amirabdollahian made the remarks Tuesday in a meeting with Yasser Othman, head of Egyptian interest section office in Tehran.

During the meeting both sides discussed the latest regional and international developments.

They also reviewed issues of mutual interest.

Referring to developments in Palestine and also holding the extraordinary meeting of the PUIC Standing Committee on Palestine in Tehran on May 14 to slam Zionists provocative acts, both sides stressed defending Palestinians rights.

The PUIC meeting was held at the request of the Iranian Majlis speaker, who is also the periodical chairman of Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), to discuss US President Donald Trumps decision to recognize al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the capital of the Zionist regime.

Several representatives and officials from Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan Republic, Burkina Faso, Chad, Kuwait, Qatar, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Uganda, Senegal attended the event.
