IRNA � US unilateral withdrawal from the Iran Deal is aimed at undermining Iran's role in addressing the Palestinian issue, said Elie Ferzli, deputy speaker of Lebanon's Parliament.


'The measures taken by the United States against the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement and its attempts at putting Tehran under increasing pressures are all aimed at weakening Iran's role in the Palestinian issue,' Ferzli told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) during a recent exclusive interview.

'They are preparing the ground for the 'deal of century',' he added, referring to the US and its regional allies.

The deputy speaker of Lebanon's Parliament went on to emphasize that the main reason behind US pressures against Iran is not the country's nuclear issue.

'The real issue is rather curtailing Iran's political and military role in the region,' Ferzli stressed.

'Iran's regional role is a source of concern for Israel,' he said.
