Iran, Kyrgyzstan ink aviation MoU

FNA- Senior Iranian and Kyrgyz aviation officials in a meeting in Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to broaden mutual cooperation between the two countries' airlines.

During the meeting in the Iranian capital on Monday, Head of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran Ali Abedzadeh and Vice President of Kyrgyzstans Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) inked the MoU to establish up to seven scheduled flights on a weekly basis.

Other provisions in the agreement include establishing direct flights between the two sides, signing joint cooperation with Kyrgyzstans Sky KG Airline to launch scheduled flights and rent aircraft.

In a relevant development in mid-May 2018, senior Iranian and Kyrgyz officials in a meeting in Bishkek signed several cooperation pacts and agreed on setting up joint investment council.

The cooperation pacts were signed in the final meeting of Joint Iran-Kyrgyzstan Economic Commission in Kyrgyzstan's capital.

Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi and his Kyrgyz counterpart Zamierbek Aydarov signed several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in Bishkek.

Akhoundi pointed to his meeting with Aydarov, and said, "Our negotiations were very constructive and all grounds are prepared for broadening of mutual cooperation in different areas."

Aydarov, for his part, said that expansion of economic relations tops Iran-Kyrgyzstan agenda because the current trade exchanges between the two countries do not meet even half of the two countries' capacities.
