Tasnim An Iranian lawmaker decried the US administration for waging a trade war in defiance of the long-standing norms of international relations, saying such an American policy will backfire.
In a meeting with China痴 ambassador to Tehran, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi deplored US President Donald Trump痴 administration for entering trade wars with other countries.
The lawmaker said the US trade war has upset the deep-rooted structures that prevail in the international community, adding that such a policy will definitely be to the detriment of the US itself.
Boroujerdi also pointed to Iran痴 policy of enhancement of ties with China, hoping for major strides in promoting political and parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, China痴 Ambassador Pang Sen said the relations between Tehran and Beijing are in full compliance with international regulations.
China is opposed to the US unilateral sanctions on Iran and will keep working with the Islamic Republic considering its international obligations, the envoy underlined.
Sen went on to say that closer cooperation between Iran and China will neutralize the unilateral American sanctions.
The US administration has entered a trade war with China and the European Union by imposing heavy additional tariffs on imported goods. It has also imposed a fresh wave of sanctions on Iran after withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal in May.
Back in June, China痴 President Xi Jinping offered plans for trade exchange with Iran using rial and yuan.
