IRNA Iran's Armed Forces are self-sufficient in all fields of defense and can offer their capabilities to other friendly countries, said the commander of the Ground Force of the Iranian Army on Monday.
'One of the commands of the Supreme Leader [Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei] is self-sufficiency in the field of defense,' said Brigadier-General Kioumars Heydari while speaking on the sidelines of a military innovations exhibition in Tehran.
He also urged those who can invent or innovate in the field of defense to present their plans in the biannual event.
Iran's Army (or Artesh in Persian) has its own Joint Staff which coordinates its four separate service branches: Ground Forces, Air Force, Navy and the newly established Air Defense Force.
