Iran ready for cyber cooperation with other countries
IRNA - International cooperation in countering cybercrime is a key and determining element and Iran is ready to cooperate with other countries in this regard, head of Iran's Cyberspace Police Production and Information Exchange Department said.


General Kamal Hadianfar, in a meeting with Head of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Alexander Fedolov, pointed out that one of the most serious issues in the world today is the cyberspace, saying that this space will change the living conditions of human beings. And the countries that have put the virtual name to this space have been mistaken because today, information technology has radically changed the global community, and as a result affects human lifestyle as well as social, cultural, economic relations, Political and security relations.

He continued, 'Cyberspace has grown substantially throughout the world, so that all aspects of human life on different areas have been dependent on it.'

Hadianfar added, 'Each technology at the same time creates many opportunities that can, in the long-run, result in threats and cause irreparable damage that is different for different countries in the world.'

He said that international cooperation is an important and decisive element in the pursuit and fight against cybercrime, saying that Iran is now ready to help other countries in the cyber field and can provide their expertise.

Head of Police Cyperspace Production and Information Exchange of Iran continued, 'International cooperation and the sharing of crime information and cybercriminals in the cyberspace can be a solution for these international challenges.'

In the meeting, head of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Iran, Alexander Fedolov, said that the organization has a special look at cybercrime and offers new opportunities for mutual cooperation, and the United Nations is particularly committed to combating cybercrime and is ready to cooperate with the cyber-police of Iran.
