IRNA - Iraqi minister for foreign affairs on Tuesday said that his country will not support the anti-Iranian sanctions.
Baghdad will continue friendly relations with Tehran and will not accompany Washington in imposing sanctions on Iran, Ibrahim Al Jafari said, according to the Iraqi state TV.
Iran is Iraq's neighbor and the two countries enjoy lots of commonalties, he noted.
The US President Donald Trump mounted pressure on Iran and on May 8 and announced that Washington would withdraw from Iran's nuclear deal and re-impose nuclear-related sanctions on the country.
This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union, have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of the world peace and security.
