Rouhani calls for widening of Iran-Austria ties

FNA - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a message to his Austrian counterpart Alexander Van der Bellen called for expansion of mutual cooperation in different political and economic fields.

"Iran always welcomes constructive ties based on mutual respect with all countries of the world, specially Austria as a trustworthy partner in Europe that hosts international institutions," President Rouhani said in his message to President Van der Bellen congratulating him on the occasion of that country's National Day.

"I hope that Iran-Austria relations will further expand in the future," the Iranian president added.

He reiterated that Iran and Austria have always enjoyed long-standing, friendly relations, and said, "I would like to offer my sincerest congratulations to Your Excellency on the National Day of Austria."

In relevant remarks in mid-August, Austrian Ambassador to Tehran Stefan Schulz underlined that his country would widen investment in developing Iran's water resources, renewable energies and tourism.

"Environment-friendly supply and security of water resources, renewable energies and sustainable tourism are among the objectives specified for the economic plan to cooperate with Iran," Schulz said during his visit to the Central province of Yazd.

He said that Austrian companies have provided financial support to establish a center for sustainable and renewable energies in Tehran, adding that certainly numerous other firms are prepared to enter Iran for cooperation in the field of renewable energies.

Schulz said good coordination between the two countries will lead to further cooperation between the two countries, but meantime, stressed that Iran does not need a winning horse.
