MNA � Over 193,036 tons of goods worth $137.721 million were exported from the southern Fars province during the first seven Iranian months through Oct. 22, indicating a rise both in terms of volume and value.







Director General for Fars Province Customs Administration Khodadad Rahimi made the above statement, saying that the province�s exports observed a 58% and 67% growth in tonnage and value, respectively, compared to last year�s corresponding period.

According to the official, the province�s exports included dairy products, tomato paste, liquorice extract and powder, urea, dates, cement, tiles, flour and carpets.

The goods were mainly exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Germany, India, Turkey, Pakistan and Indonesia.

Noting that Fars province has a significant share in the country�s exports, Rahimi said the over 200,000 tons of goods worth $248 million were exported from Fars during the past fiscal (ended on March 20).

Pointing to the imports of this year, he said that some 11,608 tons of goods worth $58.195 million entered the customs of Fars province during the seven-month period. The goods were mainly shipped from China, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Turkey, Poland, South Korea, Sweden, Pakistan, Switzerland and Italy.

He added that the imports observed a 11% fall in terms of volume, and a 25% rise in terms of value in comparison with the similar period of last year.
