IRNA - An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale shook Zagheh, Lorestan Province early on Monday.
According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake occurred at 2:55 hours local time (23:25 GMT) at the depth of 8 km underground.
The epicenter of the quake was located at 33.33 degrees longitude and 48.61 degrees latitude.
No report has so far been released on the likely casualties or damage to property.
Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
