Tasnim Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called on European countries to accelerate their efforts to preserve the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), from which the US has withdrawn.
In a radio interview on Saturday, Zarif complained about the slow pace of Europe in taking measures to save the JCPOA, urging accelerated efforts in this regard.
Asked about the US call for direct negotiations with Iran, Zarif said the US government has adopted a hypocritical policy to pretend that it favors talks and Iran should disclose such deceptive practices.
He emphasized that Tehran should use a language that reveals the realities that would result in the US isolation in the world.
Elsewhere , Zarif reiterated that Iran does not shape its policies on the basis of US internal affairs and domestic developments.
It is a reality that neither the Republicans nor the Democrats agree with Iran, no doubt about it, the Iranian minister explained.
On May 8, the US president pulled his country out of the JCPOA, which was achieved in Vienna in 2015 after years of negotiations among Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).
Following the US exit, Iran and the remaining parties launched talks to save the accord.
