IRNA - A prominent law expert from Geneva's Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in a message called for investigating US officials for their crimes against humanity.
'Independent judiciaries must react to the unlawful sanctions imposed on Iranian people. @SecPompeo, @stevenmnuchin1, Brian Hook and other high ranking US officials should be investigated for 'crimes against humanity'. Realpolitik should not affect the quest for justice,' Reza Nasri tweeted on Tuesday.
Earlier in a separate message Nasri said '@SecPompeo doesn't want to own what he says because he's well aware of the personal legal consequences of partaking in 'crimes against humanity.'
'He knows that one day - just like Donald Rumsfeld [Secretary of Defense]- he may have to cancel all his travel plans to Europe to avoid prosecution,' he added.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in an interview warned against backlash of the US administration approach towards Iran nuclear deal famously-known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Regarding the allegations made by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as scorning Iranians, he noted 'it is clear that Iran has survived and will survive and will make progress without the United States and in spite of the United States what is clear in their statement by Mr Pompeo is that he is declaring that whatever he says about not targeting Iranian people is simply untrue'.
'He is targeting Iranian people not only Iranian people in general, but even he is trying in vain in our point of view to starve Iranian people because he says if the government wants its people to eat our people will eat we will never submit to the United States, but that statement shows the malicious intent of the United States,' he reiterated.
