6-month opportunity for Iran to provide medicines

6-month opportunity for Iran to provide medicines
ISNA The director of Irans Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Gholamreza Asghari stressed that now the main problem in medicine field is the transfer of money and goods.

In an interview with ISNA news agency, Dr. Gholamreza Asghari explained the current situation of Irans medicine market following the re-imposition of US illegal sanctions, saying, Given that we already knew that sanctions were being imposed and will be exacerbated, the necessary predictions were made to provide sufficient supplies of medicines, especially pharmaceutical raw materials. So, there is no concern about providing medicines in the market.

Although, US claims that medicines are exempted from sanctions, the disruption of the banking system makes the importing processes difficult. But we have found some solutions and the transfer of money and goods can take place through some mechanisms. Without doubt, this measure will bear costs, he added.

Currently, our reserves in field of medicines and pharmaceutical raw materials are between six months to two years. So, we have at least a six-month opportunity to provide medicines and pharmaceutical raw materials through the mentioned mechanisms, the official went on to say.

We do our utmost efforts to ensure that no patients will bear any pressure,Gholamreza Asghari emphasized.
