Dialogue, only solution to Persian Gulf crisis: Qatar's Emir

IRNA - The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, emphasized in his Saturday speech at the opening of Doha Forum 2018 that the only solution to the crisis among Persian Gulf Arab states is dialogue.

According to Al Khaleej Online News Website, at the opening ceremony of the international event bringing together leaders and officials from different countries, Emir of Qatar referred to the siege of Qatar by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates And Bahrain, saying Doha's approach towards the Persian Gulf crisis has not changed and other countries should stop interfering in its internal affairs.

He regarded the issue of Palestine one of the major regional challenges, adding conflicts have given rise to the formation of organizations which pay no heed to human rights.

He went on to say crack down, double standards, and human rights violations pose a threat to humanity and due to technology advancement, one can't deny the truth.

The two-day forum will revolve around security, peace, mediation, economic pickup and regional developments.

The future of energy will be the crux of the summit. Policy-making and its implications for nations will also be examined.

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif, Qatar's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres are among the international figures and leaders partaking in the event.
