IRNA Representative of Iranian Assyrians at Majlis (Iran Parliament) said on Sunday that the government in the country belongs to all the Iranians, who play role in the countrys victories, not just the Muslims.
Along with other Iranian nationals, Assyrians also stood against the Pahlavi regime to help the victory of the Islamic Revolution, said Yonatan Betkolia in the Majlis open session on the occasion of Dey 9 Epic.
He added that the Assyrians work inexhaustibly toward the improvement of Iran as Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, regarded the Iranian nation as a united force against the arch-enemies of the revolution.
Enemies do not tolerate Irans achievements and spare no effort to hinder them, but thanks to the endeavor of scientists, the country has introduced itself to the world as a regional power.
Tehran witnessed foreign-orchestrated unrest in June and July, 2009 after the presidential elections.
Iranian people held rallies dubbed Dey 9 Epic months later on December 30 to condemn the unrest and have continued to celebrate the rallies on December 30 annually.
