IRNA Iran will not give up resistance and will resist foreign pressures imposed on it, senior cleric said.
In spite of economic and political pressures, Iran will not surrender and much pressure will lead to much resistance, Head of the Assembly of Experts Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said in a local ceremony.
Iran will not be afraid of enemy threats, the cleric added.
He referred to the resistance victories over terrorists in Iraq, Syria and other regions and noted that the axis of resistance proved that with resistance, all powers' conspiracies are doomed to failure.
The US president announced early May that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate sanctions, which had been lifted under the accord.
The first round of the sanctions snapped back into place in August, with the second round, targeting the energy and oil sectors, took effect on November 5.
This is while other signatories to the deal (i.e. Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia) have thus far criticized Washington's unilateral move and repeatedly renewed their commitment to the deal.
