IRNA Foreign Ministers of Iran and Iraq reviewed issues of mutual interest as well as the latest regional and international developments in a phone conversation on Saturday.
The conversation was made on the eve of a visit to Baghdad by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
During the meeting, Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali Hakim underlined the need for expansion of cooperation between the two countries in all areas, according to a statement by Iraqs Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement said that both the Iranian and Iraqi ministers expressed their willingness to boost bilateral relations.
Head of Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Palestinian National Authority Riyad al-Maliki are scheduled to visit Baghdad on Sunday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is due to visit Iraq a day later while Irans Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is expected to pay a visit to the neighboring country on March 11-12.
