Larijani condoles with New Zealand counterpart over terrorist attack

IRNA Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in a message on Friday condemned terror attack in the city of Christchurch and expressed condolences to his New Zealand counterpart Trevor Mallard over the incident.

The crime is another wake-up call for the all the countries in fighting terrorism and reveals the reality that the world will never see peace and calm but by drying up roots of terrorism, he said.

Iran is a victim of terrorism and has paid financial and life costs in the fight against the evil phenomenon; the country is ready to cooperate with all independent countries to reach a comprehensive solution for fighting terrorism, he said.

He wished patience for the survivors of the incident and forgiveness for the dead and swift recovery for the wounded.

At least 49 people have been killed so far, and 50 seriously injured, after gunmen opened fire at two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch on Friday when hundreds of Muslims had gathered to say their prayers.
