IRNA - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's visit to Iraq led to significant economic achievements in development of trade between Iran and Iraq with tangible results for businessmen.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Head of Abadan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Masoud Khayyatzadeh went on to say, 'Lifting visas for Iranian and Iraqi citizens have paved the way for increased trade between the two countries and businessmen of two countries can take the most advantages from this historic opportunity.'
The official emphasized that the development of trade between the two neighboring countries of Iran and Iraq has a significant role in defusing the US plots.
He pointed to lifting the visa fees between the two countries and its influence on booming the economic activities of Arvand Free Zone, the official said, 'Despite abundant infrastructure, Arvand Free Zone has the capacity to admit a large number of Iraqi tourists and it can make the markets of Abadan and Khorramshahr to flourish and business of these cities will surely flourish.'
Khayyatzadeh also said that the prospects for economic agreements between presidents of Iran and Iraq were clear, positive and influential for both countries.
He underlined that the volume of trade exchanges between Iran and Iraq is expected to increase after the two countries signed an agreement, and said that the new Iranian year (will start on March 21, 2019) will be the year of economic growth in export to Iraq.
The official also stated that the creation of joint industrial townships with Iraq along the border regions, solving the problems of the banking network of the two sides by creating banks and joint brokers, all affect the economic prosperity of Arvand Free Zone which businessmen of both countries should use this historic opportunity well.
