Iran, China share views on IT, communications: Minister
Irans minister of communications and information technology says the Islamic Republic and China hold similar views in the field of IT, which can be used as a platform for bilateral cooperation.
Mohammad Hassan Nami made the remark after a Monday meeting with his Chinese counterpart Miao Wei in Beijing.

The Iranian minister is in the Chinese capital on an official visit to discuss areas of enhanced cooperation between Tehran and Beijing.

The Iranian minister reiterated that both Iran and China share concerns regarding a number of issues, including the Internet.
Underlining Irans belief that a clean internet should be established across the world to protect the institution of the family as the key nucleus of society, Nami said the Chinese have the same concern as well, and the joint perspective [of Iran and China] can serve as a good basis for more collaboration in this field.
Nami also emphasized that the Islamic Republic intends to further develop its ties with China in the fields of industry and information technology, adding that the Chinese side has expressed eagerness on the prospect as well.

The Chinese industry and communication minister, for his part, pointed to the considerable expansion of Iran-China ties in recent years in a variety of fields, including information technology, and described Iran as a nation with a long history in science.

Wei noted that the visit by the Iranian delegation serves as a good opportunity to further engage in discussions on issues of mutual interest.

The Iranian communications and information technology minister and his accompanying delegation arrived in Beijing on June 23 for a four-day visit at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart.

The delegation left Beijing late Monday for two provinces in southern China to participate in the executive meetings of several major Chinese communications companies.
