SHANA -- The CEO of the Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) said that gas production from the offshore South Pars gas field would be increased by 60 million cubic meters per day by the end of the current calendar year to March 2020.
According to POGC, Mohammad Meshkinfam said that 5 new platforms would become operational in the field during this calendar year, adding that two of them would belong to Phase 14 development of the field each with 500 mcf/d of production capacity.
He also said that the first gas sweetening train of Phase 14 refinery would also come on stream by the end of the current calendar year or the early months of the next year.
The official added that production of gas from phase 13 would also increase by 500 mcf/d this year once a platform becomes operational in the phase.
Meshkinfam further added that production of gas from phases 22 to 24 of the supergiant field, which Iran shares with Qatar, would also add to the projects productivity by 1 bcf/d.
