IRNA - Deputy head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Asqar Zare'an said on Saturday that AEOI is to produce 50 blood bank centrifuges for Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization.
Zare'an told IRNA that the blood bank centrifuges will be produced in a year to supply blood banks' needs.
Such move is being made in line with Iran's self-sufficiency in the field of design and manufacture a variety of centrifuges, the official added.
He expressed indignation at the unprecedented sanctions Trump administration imposed on procurement of medical equipment, saying that the foreign companies refuse to provide Iran with centrifuges it needs. He said that the AEOI undertook to provide the Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization with necessary centrifuges
These kinds of centrifuges which separate the components of blood like red blood cells, platelets and plasma are being produced by the young Iranian engineers and experts at the AEOI, Zare'an noted.
As the official stressed, centrifuges play an important and effective role in health services industry.
Zare'an said that Iran is self-sufficient in designing and building centrifuges.
At the first anniversary of the US unilateral withdrawal from the Iran Deal on May 8, 2019, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced though a speech that the country will reduce its commitments to the July 2015 nuclear deal, aka Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), based on the Article 26 and 36 of the deal.
At the same day, the president said JCPOA needs surgery.
