ISNA - Irans Foreign Ministry spokesman, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi announced that President Hassan Rouhani will pay an official visit to Malaysia in near future.
At Monday press conference, Mousavi referred to Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarifs recent visit to Turkey and Qatar, saying, President Rouhani will travel to Malaysia in near future.
Arrangements are now underway for President Rouhanis visit to Japan and it will be notified after it becomes finalized, he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Mousavi criticized Saudi officials for their double standard behavior in regards to Iran, saying, We hope Saudis stop their double standard behavior and accept friendly offers made by Iran to Saudi Arabia and other regional countries.
He also reacted to some reports about Russias withdraw from cooperation in Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, stressing, Suspension in Russias cooperation in Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant is due to technical reasons and it will resume after solving problems.
Answering whether Iranian and Iraqi officials have recently held any talks amid political and security developments in Iraq, Mousavi said, Irans relations with its neighboring countries including Iraq are great and solid and talks between Iranian and Iraqi officials are underway. Tehran-Baghdad ties are solid and firm although we are upset by what has happened to Irans Consulate General in Najaf.
Recently, Mr. Zarif held a phone conversation with Iraqi Foreign Minister and he also met with Iraqi National Security Adviser, Falih Alfayyadh on the sidelines of the Doha Forum 2019, he added.
We believe that there is good opportunity for expanding our interactions with Iraq and the current situation in the Arab country is temporary and stability and peace will return to the country with solidarity among Iraqi nation and government, Mousavi went on to say.
