The Statistical Center of Iran's latest report on price changes in food products shows the biggest month-on-month price rise for a food item during the month ending April 19 was recorded for tomatoes with 35.4%.
A kilogram of tomatoes was sold at 64,140 rials (40 cents).
The second and third biggest month-on-month price increase during the period under review was registered for potatoes with 23.6% and lentils with 19.5%.
A kilogram of potatoes was sold at 58,241 rials (36 cents) and a kilogram of lentils went for 145,850 rials (91 cents) last month.
