Tasnim Irans UN mission spokesman Alireza Miryousefi denounced the US inhumane and unfair policy of maximum pressure on Iranians and stressed that the Islamic Republics missile program or its regional interests will never be subject to negotiations.
In a letter on Tuesday, Miryousefi responded to a June 9 article published by American daily newspaper The Wall Street Journal, entitled Irans Pre-Deal Deceptions.
My letter to WSJ: Iran is most assuredly not on its knees, is not begging for renewed negotiations & will not ever negotiate its entirely defensive missile program or its legitimate regional national interests. JCPOA addressed every concern, the Iranian diplomat said in a post on his Twitter account.
JCPOA addressed every concern regarding any peaceful nuclear work conducted by Iran. After two years of intensive negotiations all parties were satisfied that all issues, including the possible military dimensions (PMD) file which was closed by IAEA in 2015, were addressed, Miryousefi added.
Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Irans defense capabilities will be never subject to negotiations.
In February 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for efforts to maintain and boost Irans defense capabilities, hitting back at the enemies for disputing the countrys missile program.
Without a moment of hesitation, the country must move to acquire whatever is necessary for defense, even if the whole world is opposed to it, Ayatollah Khamenei said at the time.
