The Islamic Republic of Iran and Japan have convened a consular meeting in the capital city of Tehran.
Consular, immigration, justice, and international police officials participated in the meeting.
The twelfth Iranian-Japanese consular meeting aimed to exchange views on nationals affairs, backing citizens of both sides and cooperation of university students.
The two countries also discussed judicial agreements, visa and immigration issues, and joint cooperation between the two sides on illegal immigration, combating crimes and drug trafficking and transferring convicts.
Iran and Japan enjoy a long-standing relation and nearly 15,000 Iranian nationals reside in Japan.
