The political bureau chief of Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, lauded the agreement on the restoration of ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
In a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Sunday, Ismail Haniyeh welcomed the reconciliation between Tehran and Riyadh.
He said the détente between Iran and Saudi Arabia would benefit the two nations and the whole region, adding that the Zionist regime is dissatisfied with the agreement.
Haniyeh also reaffirmed the Palestinian nation and groups’ determination to press ahead with resistance against the Israeli regime’s acts of aggression.
For his part, the top Iranian diplomat pointed to the speech delivered by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Eid al-Fitr, which revolved around the issue of Palestine.
Amirabdollahian also reaffirmed that Iran will keep providing political and spiritual supports for the Palestinian nation and resistance.
In meeting with a group of Iranian officials and the ambassadors of Islamic countries on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr on April 22, Ayatollah Khamenei considered the issue of Palestine as one of the most fundamental issues of the Islamic world and pointed to the gradual decline of the usurping Zionist regime.
The Leader considered the issue of Palestine not only Islamic, but also a humanitarian issue.
