The Iranian president has told visiting Saudi foreign minister that Muslim enemies with the Zionist Israeli regime at the top are the only ones that oppose the development of cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Faisal Bin Farhan, Foreign minister of Saudi Arabia was received for a meeting by President Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran on Saturday evening.

The president emphasized that his administration seeks developing relations with all countries, especially neighbors as a top priority in its foreign policy, saying that the shared Islamic beliefs, good neighborliness and Iran and Saudi Arabia's shared interests push them towards dialogue and engagement.

"Only the enemies of Muslims and the Zionist regime at the top of their list are against the development of bilateral and regional cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia," he also said.

Stating that there are various issues and problems in the region, which have become the source of suffering for the Islamic Ummah, Raisi emphasized, "Through the cooperation and dialogue among the countries of the region, these problems and difficulties can be overcome, and there is no need for foreign powers interference in that regard."

The president pointed to the successful experience of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the fight against terrorism and the destruction of Takfiri groups, saying "The results and experiences of this successful fight are among the issues that can be the focus of cooperation between the two countries."

The president also said, "The Zionist regime is not only an enemy to the Palestinians, but also it is a threat to all Muslims," adding "The normalization of the relations of some countries with this regime neither creates security, nor it matches with Islamic Ummah's beliefs."

Faisal bin Farhan, for his part, expressed his great happiness with the resumption of relations between the two Islamic countries and his trip to Tehran, saying "We are in a golden stage that we should seize as an opportunity."

According to the top Saudi diplomat, his country's relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran is an opportunity that benefits both sides and the region.

Referring to the order of the King of Saudi Arabia to form various working groups to develop relations with Iran, bin Farhan pointed to his country's efforts to enhance relations to a strategic level, adding, "Economic, development and cultural cooperation is on the agenda of both Tehran and Riyadh."

He stated that some countries in the world do not want the region to witness peace and progress, adding "With the extension of the current interaction between Iran and Saudi Arabia to all Islamic countries, endless achievements will emerge that will guarantee that no foreign countries intervenes in our region."
