Iran and Sri Lanka agree to enhance trade, tourism coop
Irans Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Sri Lankan counterpart Ali Sabry stressed the significant potential for advancing trade and tourism cooperation between the two countries.

During a press conference held in Tehran on Saturday, Amirabdollahian hailed Sabry's visit to Iran as a new milestone in the development of diplomatic ties between Iran and Sri Lanka.

We have discussed today the existing obstacles to our bilateral cooperation and believe that we can overcome these challenges, he said.

The top Iranian diplomat also underscored the mutual interests of both countries in expanding trade and tourism, while working towards increasing cooperation within international organizations.

Drawing attention to President Ebrahim Raisi's foreign policy agenda that prioritizes the Asian region, the foreign minister urged Asian countries to engage in dialogue centered around mutual interests.

In his first visit to Iran, the Sri Lankan minister commended the Iranian nation for their unwavering determination and resilience in the face of adversities.

Despite provocations at various levels, you have remained committed to a peaceful agenda, Sabry said. We seek to have good relations with Iran and encourage more Iranians to visit Sri Lanka.
