Iran to continue diplomatic efforts to fully restore its rights, says FM

The Iran Project - Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has stated that Tehran will continue its diplomatic efforts to achieve a final result that fully restore its rights.

The top Iranian diplomat made the comments in a Twitter post on Saturday.

This comes after a recent deal emerged, proposing a prisoner swap between the United States and Iran in exchange for access to $6 billion worth of frozen funds in South Korea.

AmirAbdollahian has stressed that Iran has never abandoned negotiations and diplomacy while working to nullify the illegal sanctions imposed on the country.

Since assuming office in August 2021, President Ebrahim Raisi's administration has prioritized dynamic diplomacy to protect national interests and restore the rights of the Iranian people.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday that the process to unblock the frozen assets in South Korea has begun, with a guarantee of the United States' commitment to its obligations in this regard.

Additionally, the release of Iranian prisoners held in American jails under the pretext of bypassing US sanctions will soon be realized, the ministry noted.

The Islamic Republic has insisted that it will have full access to its funds illegally blocked in South Korea when they are released, dismissing certain claims in this regard.
