He commended the UN's work and highlighted its responsibility to address calls for justice, sustainable security, and the elimination of discrimination and poverty.
Raisi also raised concerns about the political and social future of countries such as Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, and Africa, stressing the UN's important role in preventing oppression in these regions.
Additionally, he urged Secretary-General Guterres to obtain news about Iran directly from reliable sources rather than relying on Western media, which may not provide an accurate portrayal of the country.
In turn, Secretary-General Guterres expressed his eagerness to enhance cooperation between the UN and Iran, welcoming positive developments in relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia and acknowledging their potential impact on regional stability.
He also commended Iran's constructive role in addressing the crisis in Yemen and affirmed the UN's support for Tehran's initiatives to resolve the situation.
