The Iran Project - An official with the Punishments Organization announced that the final verdict of Bahman Motor would be issued soon and If approved, the closure of this private car manufacturer and the discontinuation of Fidelity, Respect, and Dignity are not far from expected.
Last week, Seyyed Ahad Yuzbashi, director of the Special Appeals Branch of the Governmental Discretionary Punishments Organization (GDPO), said that the issuance of a final verdict is imminent in the case of a famous car manufacturer company., adding, "This ruling is pending the expert report of the Consumer Rights Protection Organization."
Back in February, the seventh special branch for handling important and national violations sentenced Bahman Motor Company to pay a fine of 138,606 billion Rials.
It is worth mentioning that Bahman Motor was handed over to the private sector in 2018, and its new owners, in addition to paying past debts, with new investment, made extensive changes, including renovation and creation of production lines. These changes led to the entry of several new cars into the Iranian market.
At present, this company employs more than 3,000 direct workers and creates indirect employment for a number more than this, offering products such as Fidelity, Respect and Dignity, and a few other cars and providing their after-sales service.
Experts believe that if the fine of 14 thousand billion tomans is confirmed, Bahman Motor will be forced to close its production lines and make extensive layoffs.
In this case, in addition to the layoff of more than 300 direct personnel of this company, the continuation of the supply and after-sales service of Fidelity, Respect, and Dignity cars, which are acceptable cars in the market, would be veiled in ambiguity.
