The Iran Project - The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and Iraq's National Security Adviser met in Tehran to discuss bilateral issues and the implementation of the Tehran-Baghdad security agreement.
During this meeting, the two sidesdiscussed and exchanged opinions about bilateral issues and the implementation of the security agreement between Tehran and Baghdad.
They also discussed the successful organization of the Arbaeen pilgrimage and how it has strengthened the relationship between the two countries.
Praising the good cooperation and arrangements of the Iraqi government in holding the Arbaeen pilgrimage, General Ahmadian told al-Araji, "In addition to its important political and cultural aspects and its spiritual blessings, the Arbaeen ceremony has brought closer the two Muslim and Shiite nations of Iran and Iraq."
The security agreement aims to ensure the safety of the borders and eliminate insecurity in the region.
Both sides emphasized the importance of strict and complete implementation of the agreement.
They also discussed the potential for economic cooperation and expressed their commitment to further developing and deepening relations between Iran and Iraq.
