The Iran Project : Iran’s Top Diplomat Hossein Amirabdollahian has departed Tehran for the Russian capital to attend the annual summit of foreign ministers of the Caspian Sea littoral states.
According to The Iran Project Amirabdollahian left Tehran for Moscow on Monday night to attend the annual summit the following day. The gathering will discuss key issues related to the Caspian Sea.
The Iranian foreign minister is also scheduled to hold meetings with his counterparts from participating countries including Russia, focusing on bilateral relations as well as regional issues.
Before departing Tehran, Amirabdollahian took to social media to stress the importance of regional cooperation in addressing shared challenges.
“The significance of cooperation and collective participation is notable in the face of diverse economic opportunities and environmental challenges in this region,” he said.
Amirabdollahian also underscored the Caspian Sea's role as a catalyst for fostering multilateral trade relations among the littoral states.
“The Caspian Sea, as a catalyst for the growth of multilateral trade relations among the coastal countries, holds special importance in the neighborly policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the foreign minister added.
